Gorilla Forest Camp
Gorilla Forest Camp is a permanent luxury tented camp in Bwindi Impenetrable National Park, one of only two properties to be located inside the park’s boundaries. This privileged location makes the camp not only one of the best locations from which to participate in exciting gorilla trekking adventures but also provides some of the most breathtaking views imaginable of the fascinating Bwindi Impenetrable Forest.
Property Details
Gorilla Forest Camp comprises eight tents on elevated platforms with private verandas and en suite bathtubs perfectly positioned to look out onto the seemingly endless forest. The camp has been carefully designed and situated to blend seamlessly into the surrounding environment. The tents have wooden floors on the interior, and the beautiful queen-sized beds have been carved by Ugandan artists specifically for the camp.
The camp features a bar and dining cottage that afford excellent views of the rainforest, and there is a raised platform on which guests can dine al fresco. Educational lectures and gorilla briefings occur around the traditional campfire.
Gorilla trekking, though the most popular, is not the only activity available in the Bwindi area. Guests can also enjoy forest walks and cultural interactions with local inhabitants. In addition to gorillas and six other primate species, this area is also home to rare species such as the forest elephant, 200 species of butterfly, and 324 varieties of trees, and for avid bird watchers, there are over 360 bird species to be found in the forest.
