Boulders pays homage to African motifs with a contemporary twist, utilizing wooden furnishings, neutral tones, rich textures, and thatch and straw throughout. Just 24 guests can be accommodated in 12 air-conditioned suites, two of which are double suites designed with families in mind. Modern en suite baths include both an indoor and outdoor shower, and all suites are fitted with spacious lounge areas and a double-sided fireplace. Guests also enjoy the complete exclusivity of a private heated swimming pool and private wooden lounge deck at each suite.

The lodge’s name is inspired by a massive boulder on the property, now the centerpiece of the gracious wine cellar. The central lodge is also a product of natural stone, with gorgeous wrap-around views and a deck overlooking the Sand River. Relax in the bar or at the open boma next to the shared swimming pool, and enjoy a sundowner on the deck, looking down at the animals at the river.

Beyond the life observed from the lodge’s lookout deck, trained guides will escort guests on game drives and walks into the Sabi Sand Reserve. Expect to see the Big Five, especially leopard, and a variety of plains game and birdlife. In addition, guests can embark on mountain bike rides, try their hand at archery, or take a trip to one of the local communities.
