Nestled along the eastern bank of the Lugenda River, this elegant and intimate camp accommodates only 16 people in richly appointed east-African style tents. Peaceful
and understated while offering unending luxuries, Lugenda is the ultimate wilderness camp experience. There are eight luxury tents here, all discreetly situated on the banks of the Lugenda River beneath towering fig trees. Every suite features its own patio deck with wide-angle views. The tents themselves blend beautifully into the natural surrounds while offering modern comforts – from king-size beds to a generous en-suite bathroom with bath, shower and double basin sink.
An elegant timber and thatched central guest area provides a shady refuge from the African sun as well as a quiet place to dine. Make yourself at home at the bar or cozy up to the library and browse through books on Niassa’s fascinating history. Even relax at the swimming pool in cool sparkling waters or lounge in the sun or under beach umbrellas for an afternoon nap.
Despite being in the heart of the wilderness, the cuisine at Lugenda is fresh and simply delicious. Awake to hot coffee or tea and muffins in the early mornings for sunrise game drives or walks.
