Saruni Samburu

Saruni Samburu is located in a 240,000 acre private wildlife conservancy just north of Kenya’s Samburu National Reserve. Perched at the top of the Kalama Mountains, the lodge has a spectacular view all around of northern Kenya and offers a first-class safari experience in a pristine wilderness environment.

Property Details

The lodge features only four cottages, making it perfect for those looking for quiet luxury accommodations off the beaten path. Two cottages have one bedroom each with a private seating and dining area and an en suite bathroom. The two family cottages have two bedrooms each with en suite bathrooms and private seating areas.

The cottages and large swimming pool overlook multiple waterholes that are frequented by a variety of wildlife, including the famous Samburu elephant. There is an onsite Samburu Wellbeing space where guests can indulge in massage and beauty treatments between safari activities. Cuisine is Italian-inspired, but the chef makes every effort to incorporate Kenyan specialties, especially fish and local vegetables. Enjoy a bush dinner in one of the “secret spots” or a picnic lunch at the river.

Game drives are conducted in the Samburu National Reserve, Buffalo Springs National Reserve, and West Gate Conservancy as well as in the Kalama area. Guests are led by professional Samburu guides on their game activities, and you can arrange to visit a traditional village or local caves that feature paintings and rock art. The guides are also well-versed in the local bird species and will delight in sharing their knowledge with avid bird watchers.
