Just six lavish rooms comprise the accommodations at Hogmead, each with its own unique interior and theme. Upstairs find four suites – blue hues in Lamu, classic chic in Mount Kenya, and private balconies overlooking the gardens in both the Mara and Meru rooms. The Baringo and Naivasha rooms are located on the ground level with direct access to the verdant gardens and veranda. In addition, a stable block on the grounds has been converted into seven cozy day room accommodations, each including a twin bed and en suite facilities for freshening up and relaxing between travels. Each room is fitted with luxury linens, gracious amenities, and an artful blend of Old Country English charm and modern elegance.

Guests at Hogmead are treated to an experience akin to staying as a guest in a private home. Sumptuous meals are crafted using locally-sourced ingredients and served in the spacious dining room, in the privacy of the rooms, or in the company of nature on the breezy veranda. Common spaces are decked with fine art from throughout Africa and rich wood finishes, exuding warmth and familiarity at every turn. Spend time in the lounge next to the hand-carved limestone fireplace, or head outside to the open-air bar for an afternoon cocktail while looking out onto the grounds. A variety of bird life and a family of warthogs can be found wandering leisurely through the gardens, a reminder that Hogmead sits on the cusp of the wilderness.

Beyond the hotel, several of Nairobi’s main attractions can be enjoyed by guests of Hogmead. The Langata Giraffe Sanctuary is practically next door, and the Sheldrick Elephant Orphanage and Nairobi National Park are also close by.
