The Cottars 1920s Safari Camp is a beautiful camp offering an unparalleled safari experience. Property Details

Located in the Masai Mara, bordering the Serengeti and Loliondo reserves, Cottars 1920s Safari Camp is within a 22,000 acre exclusive concession. The camp accommodates up to 16 guests in authentic, spacious white canvas tents. There are a total of eight tents, each with a canopied verandah, carefully arranged to ensure privacy. Each tent is luxuriously furnished with safari antiques from the 1920’s, private en suite bathrooms, showers, and flush toilets. The camp is equipped with a tented library/reading room, and the cuisine and silver service is of the highest standard to be found in the bush. Each tent has its own private butler.

Being close to the border with the Serengeti, the spectacular wildebeest migration, recognized as "the greatest show on earth", moves through this area every year, usually between July and October, and prolific game viewing is guaranteed whether on foot or in a four-wheel-drive vehicle. Over a million wildebeest and two hundred thousand zebra pass through the reserve on their endless journey, following the rains and in search of greener grasses. Here you are able to witness the spectacular river crossings and the frenzy of predator activity.

The Masai Mara National Reserve totals 750 square miles and forms the northern tip of the Serengeti/Mara ecosystem. The Mara offers wonderful scenery and an amazing abundance of wildlife, making some of the best game and bird viewing in Africa. The views across the rolling golden grasslands studded with acacia trees, rivers, and forests are dazzling, and the sense of space is overwhelming.
