Lake District
Chile’s Lake District has been likened in magnificence to Switzerland, a comparison aided by the distinct Germanic influence found in the region’s architecture. It is named for the twelve major lakes and many smaller ones that can be found scattered throughout the region, in addition to the many other spectacular natural features of the area, including six volcanoes.
The District’s incredible variety of scenery has attracted a number of tourist resorts to the area, making the most of the attraction of its temperate climate, excellent cuisine, and the colorfulness of the local indigenous culture, the Mapuche.
There are endless opportunities for enjoyment and relaxation in Chile’s Lake District, so contact your Ker & Downey travel expert to discover more about the activities and experiences you add to your journey.
