Eagle Island Camp
Eagle Island Camp Xaxaba is one of the Delta's most pristine natural locations, a region of myriad waterways, palm-tree covered islands, and vast flood plains. Built to blend in with its environment, the camp affords guests with a peaceful setting perfect for enjoying the sights and sounds of the Okavango Delta. The magnificent sunsets can be enjoyed during times of high flood from the camp's most romantic Fish Eagle Bar at Eagle Island or from the raised deck overlooking the lagoon.
Property Details
During the wet months of flood season, traditionally April through October, the camp offers a choice of game viewing by mokoro (traditional dugout canoe), motorboats, and sundowner barges to the surrounding lagoons. When water levels are low in the dry season, typically December through March, morning, afternoon, and evening game drives are offered in open 4×4 vehicles. (Please note that the months listed are guidelines. As flood water levels vary annually, game viewing type cannot be guaranteed ahead of time.) Guided safari walks are offered year round on the surrounding islands. An inclusive helicopter game viewing flight of 45 minutes is offered to all guests as part of their safari program.
The Suite has all the amenities of standard tents with the addition of a private heated plunge pool, outside bathroom with bath tub, large deck area for private dining, and your own personal guide for private game viewing excursions.
