Iguazu Falls
Iguazu Falls can be reached in Argentina from Puerto Iguazú in Misiones province and are a part of Iguazú National Park, which was designated a UNESCO World Heritage Site in 1984. From the Argentine side, guests can visit Iguazu Falls more closely and have a less crowded, more intimate experience. Many of the trails around the Falls are paved, making access much easier to experience the Falls up close. In addition, the “Rainforest Ecological Train” provides easier access to many of the trails. The forests and fauna in the area are breathtaking, and there are over 500 recorded species of butterfly in the region.
The largest of the Falls is Devil’s Throat, or as the Argentines call it, “Garganta del Diablo”. Here, water pours in from three sides, offering a view not to be missed. A walkway of a little over half a mile in length brings you to the brink of the Devil’s Throat providing a moment of excitement and wonder to all who view it from this lofty position.
