Itinerary Description:
Begin your tour of Grand South Africa in Cape Town, the perfect introduction to this diverse country. From your accommodations on the V&A Waterfront at Cape Grace, venture outside the city for guided tours of the Cape Peninsula and the Winelands region.
Next, head to the famous Kruger National Park region, where wildlife and wilderness offer stark contrast to the glitz of Cape Town. Lion Sands Ivory Lodge in the Sabi Sands provides a combination of superb design, natural materials and an unmatched pristine environment. Breeding herds of elephant and buffalo roam throughout the Lion Sands area, while white rhino and lion concentrations are amongst the highest recorded on the African continent. Leopard viewing is also stunning in this region.
Arrive at the shores of the Indian Ocean in the KwaZulu-Natal, a province that offers an eclectic mix of cultures, natural and unspoiled scenery, pristine beaches and modern cities juxtaposed against rural settlements. Stay in the historic Oyster Box Hotel just outside of Durban, where shopping, watersports and leisure time at the beach are all that fill your days.
Finally, end your tour at the Phinda Private Game Reserve, situated in the lush Maputaland region in northern KwaZulu-Natal. Bordering the Greater St. Lucia Wetland Park, a World Heritage Site, Phinda comprises 54,500 acres of prime conservation land. Seven distinct habitats shelter an abundance of wildlife including Africa’s Big Five and over 380 bird species, while the marine diversity off the nearby coast of Sodwana is said to rival the Great Barrier Reef in Australia. Enjoy game drives, fishing and an abundance of watersports for three days at the fantastic lodge.
