Sister hotel to the Playa Vik, The Estancia Vik Jose Ignacio is located on 4,000 acres in the lush and stunning Uruguay countryside on the Arroyo and the Laguna Jose Ignacio, barely a stroll away from the Atlantic Ocean. Spanish colonial architecture grace the sprawling mansion and visitors will find a haven of deeply cultural beauty, artistic expression, and stunning vistas at the Estancia Vik Jose Ignacio.
Designed by Uruguayan architect Marcelo Daglio as a marriage of understated and clean modern design and traditional Spanish style estancias, the hotel features white adobe walls, red tin roofs, and an outdoor courtyard connected by covered arched walkways. The Estancia welcomes the practice of “sitting and staying awhile” with sprawling patios and lush gardens, sculpture installations, and an organic herb garden.
The living spaces at the Estancia Vik Jose Ignacio are comprised of six luxurious suites separate bathtubs and rain showers, and private access to outdoor porches and spots for reflection and relaxation. In addition to comfortable and classic furnishings, each suite is designed to envelope guests in a world of South American art with specially curated pieces in each room.
The southern wing of the Estancia features a grassy knoll and a spacious pool made of Absolute Nero stone. Visitors looking for a quiet nighttime swim will find the space brilliantly and subtly lit with fiber optic lights dotting the bottom of the pool, mirroring the constellations in the sweeping open sky above.
For the ultimate dining experience, the Estancia Vik Jose Ignacio offers guests one of the most unique with a brick barreled dining room – the ideal space for intimate or larger gatherings with a vaulted ceiling, wine cellar below ground and wood beam floor with glass windows in each corner, offering a peek into the lower wine cellar. The menu shows off a traditional Uruguayan barbecue and culture of the country, using fresh ingredients and seafood, herbs grown in-house and homemade breads and pastries.Request Information
