Secluded on one of Seychelles’ tiny outer islands, Desroches Island Resort is a serene retreat focused on relaxation, conservation and family experiences. A peaceful island getaway with a soul awaits those who travel to Desroches’ sandy shores.

The luxurious suites are spread out over a large portion of the island, secluded by trees and shores, imparting a feeling of sublime privacy. All accommodations feature double vanity bath sinks, a separate shower and bath, minibar, flatscreen television and attached patio.

20 Beach Suites are set in the tropical garden and convenient to the main building and beach. Perfect for groups and families, the 23 Luxury Beach Villas include four en-suite bedrooms, a lounge area, private pool and kitchen. Guests of these suites may choose to have the resort’s chef prepare their meals in the comfort of their accommodations. Boasting five en-suite bedrooms, four of which are sea-facing, the Presidential Villa is an ideal retreat for parties seeking superior exclusivity. Additional one-bedroom Beach Villas will open in April 2011, offering all the amenities of the Luxury Beach Villas but hidden within the tropical forest.

International and traditional Creole cuisine is served at Le Ve Loutier Restaurant and guests can enjoy light lunches on the beach at Ghost Crab Grill and Pizzeria. A swimming pool and lighted tennis court are also available at the main building. For those who seek relaxation, talented Balinese masseuses are waiting at the Desroches Spa to offer a variety of soothing treatments. Over nine miles of sand beaches outline the island, offering excellent opportunity for swimming, kayaking or snorkeling and diving through the numerous colorful coral reefs off the coast.

Though Desroches Island is just under two square miles in size, the activities are endless on land and at sea. Bike one of many trails through the forest to the small settlement and lighthouse to the north of the island. Guests may also visit the Island Conservation Society for a lasting souvenir – symbolically adopt a baby Aldabra tortoise or roll up your sleeves to plant an endemic tree. Boat trips and fishing excursions are also available at an additional charge.
