Okahirongo Elephant Lodge is located in one of the most remote regions of Namibia and is an absolute treasure in the world of luxury travel. Planted in the Purros Conservancy, this is one of the last truly uncontaminated sites existing in the entire world. It is the mission of Okahirongo to keep it pristine with forward-thinking conservation efforts and "leave no trace" policies.
From its relatively high vantage point, Okahirongo Elephant Lodge stands like a sentinel over the vast plains surrounding Purros. There are seven gorgeous dwellings erected here in striking modern design. Some call them cottages, others call them luxury chalets, but no matter the name one thing is for certain: these uber-luxurious accommodations are from an African fantasy and will not disappoint even the most discerning of traveler.
Okahirongo Elephant Lodge is able to host up to 18 guests at any one time, and each chalet is luxuriously accommodated in the finest African tradition. One suite is beautifully suited to honeymooners or those seeking romantic privacy. Another dwelling is the Presidential Suite which offers two bedrooms and a massive lounge in which to rest and reflect between explorations in the wild.
With sumptuous linens and drapes with cool mixes of beige and ochre blends, it appears as if this lodge was built by mother nature herself. Elegance and sophistication are exhibited throughout, enhanced by magnificent cuisine, top of the line service, and a fabulous African vibe. Each bath boasts a huge tub with an equally grand view of the plains, as well as his and hers basins and shower facilities found indoors and outside of the chalets. In addition, there is a private gazebo complete with an enormous sun bed for relaxing during the day or sleeping under the stars at night.
The main lodge offers two lounges, two dining areas, a library, and a beautiful African boma which is used at night should guests decide to dine al fresco. In addition, the main lodge hosts a beautiful pool, the perfect place for a refreshing chill on warm desert days. Game drives by day will reveal the desert-adapted elephants and lions who occupy the rolling hills and vast plains. By night, guests may embark in search of nocturnal wildlife and unforgettable stargazing experiences, looking up to the glittering canvas of the heavens.Request Information
