Nestled on a small bend in the Ntiakitiak River, Mara Toto Camp is a secluded tented camp that blends comfort, adventure, and privacy. This Kenyan retreat is perfect for the ardent safari-goer with incredible game viewing opportunities in exclusive conservancies and a wide range of activities all over the greater Masai Mara.
Located just downstream from its sister camp, Mara Plains, and on the north-central border of the Masai Mara Game Reserve, Mara Toto Camp is a collection of only five custom-designed tents with high ceilings and captivating décor, each one occupying a space on a bend in the gentle Ntiakitiak River. Each tent is contemporary and functional with a private veranda, dedicated changing area, and en-suite bath with bucket shower. While simple in presentation, the tents are littered with elegance of early explorers, with brass chandeliers, old Indian campaign chests, rich leather furnishings, and hardwood furniture present throughout.
Mara Toto Camp is an intimate, mobile camp whose non-permanence is intrinsic to its deference to the surrounding Masai Mara wilderness. Stop by the expansive main tent for photo workshops and group dinners or head over to the adjacent library to read or relax. In the evening guests are invited to Mara Toto Camp’s nearby fire pit to laugh, relax, and watch the sun set while exchanging their safari adventure stories from the day.
Days at Mara Toto Camp are spent in the fresh air as guests are led to the Big Five playground of the Masai Mara on an open 4×4 game drive. Explore the 70,000-acre private Mara North Conservatory or go deep into the famous Masai Mara Game reserve and witness the great wildebeest and zebra migrations pass directly in front of camp. Guests are also invited to rent high-quality camera equipment and capture amazing photographs of the lions, hippos, and leopards along the way. Stop during the day for delicious chef prepared meals using fresh local ingredients, packed for a delicious picnic-style lunch. Guests looking for other daily activities may choose to visit a local school or community or even take a romantic hot air balloon ride above the Masai Mara plains.Request Information
