Located near to its sister camp Mara Plains, Mara Expedition Camp offers guests a refined traditional tented camping experience within the famed Masai Mara region. With a focus on its environment and authentic interactions within it, this camp offers an unparalleled Mara safari.
Mara Expedition Camp was designed as a tented camp for two purposes. Firstly, to ensure that if camp needs to be moved, not a trace of it is left behind. Secondly, to imbue its guests with a feeling of colonial-era exploration without compromising on everyday comforts. Constructed with ecologically-friendly and recycled materials, Mara Expedition Camp is committed to keeping a low profile and footprint in its gorgeous location. Yet for all its light touch philosophies the camp remains modern and impeccably customized.
Inside the tents, guests get a sense of how pioneering explorers might have traveled. Find hardwood furnishings, campaign chests, and even twinkling brass chandeliers within the simple confines of canvas. You will also find full bath facilities to comfortably push your expedition into the modern age. En suite bathrooms are fitted with hot and cold running water, flush toilets, and bucket showers. Between the camp amenities and the warm and attentive staff, no comfort will be overlooked.
Five luxury tents are scattered in the shade of the riverine forest, along a bend in the Ntialitiak River. The whole camp can accommodate just 10 people at a time to ensure that yours is a secluded and intimate safari experience. Mara Expedition Camp may be booked exclusively and is an excellent option for families and groups traveling together.
Find outstanding game viewing as close as just outside your tent at Mara Expedition Camp. Parades of plains game pass to and fro through camp on their annual migration. Year-round this area is known for its high concentration of leopards, often found prowling the bush and lazing in the trees. Embark with expert guides and trackers into the Masai Mara and its conservancies to see the wildlife that reign in this hidden location. You may also wish to visit Mara Plains Camp within the Olare Orok Conservancy, where tents atop elevated platforms are your luxurious accommodations.Request Information
