Eco-Omo Safari Lodge is an eco-friendly permanent safari tent lodge located in Jinka, the heart of Ethiopia’s Omo Valley bordering the Neri River. Based on a low impact concept and natural material construction, this is a considerate and comfortable destination and one of the best of its kind in southern Ethiopia.
Eco-Omo is set within lush gardens within the Omo Valley. The lodge is comprised of 20 safari tent bungalows, each stilted on wooden platforms and covered with reed roofs to blend with the natural environment. Bungalows all feature comforts rare to the Ethiopian countryside, such as private en-suite bathrooms, 24-hour electricity, hot and cold water, and large mosquito netted four-poster beds.
The Sidamo Bamboo Restaurant at Eco-Omo serves a plethora of international favorites featuring homegrown produce from the property’s vegetable and herb gardens. Continental breakfasts are presented buffet style with fresh juices, banana bread, and divine, freshly-roasted and ground Ethiopian Sidama coffee, all sourced from the respective fruit trees and banana and coffee plantations onsite. Dinners are Italian in focus, and the large open-air bar and lounge shakes up any type of cocktail imaginable, all quite refreshing after a day of exploring. For an extra special experience guests may request a cultural dance performance in camp, presented by local Ari and Mursi villages and residents.
Eco-Omo Safari Lodge is an ideal stop on any journey through southern Ethiopia. Near the UNESCO World Heritage Site of Konso, the birdlife of the Weyto River, the markets of Jinka, and the Mago and Omo National Parks, the surrounding region offers a unique perspective of the remote mosaic of ethnicities in this beautiful land.
Led by your Ker & Downey private guide, embark from Eco-Omo Safari Lodge into the spectacular Omo National Park and the Omo Valley. In a region that is famously remote, you will witness the exotic birdlife and the varied indigenous cultures that call this region home.Request Information
