Travel in November to take advantage of Ker & Downey’s attractive rates on five extraordinary journeys.

Paris

November is low season in Paris. In our opinion, there’s no better time to go. Besides lower rates, you’ll see less tourists in the streets and smaller crowds at the museums. Although temperatures can range from the 40s to the 60s (Fahrenheit), it’s the perfect weather to grab a cappuccino and people watch from inside a toasty cafe or explore the city’s museums.

From mid September to mid January, the Jacquemart André Museum is hosting a special exhibit – “Rembrandt: the Decisive Years.” Designed around three of his masterpieces, it explores the evolution of Rembrandt’s style and creative process. For lunch, take in some of the city’s beautiful monuments on board the Bustronome, a unique, high-end double-decker bus. Its panoramic glass roof lets you see the sites outside, while you enjoy  a multi-course meal. In the evenings, you can listen to classical music concerts at La Sainte Chapelle. It is the most famous venue for Vivaldi concerts in the city.

Galapagos Islands

In November the Galapagos Islands are cool and dry. You might have an occasional drizzle or overcast skies, but overall, it’s a great time to visit the Galapagos Islands. November is a great time for wildlife and marine encounters. It’s breeding and nesting season for some of the Galapagos wildlife like the blue-footed boobies and fur sea lions. There’s also a strong presence of the Humboldt Current, which brings abundant nutrients in the water and more active marine life.

Take advantage of Ker & Downey’s November rates on an 11-day Galapagos Getaway.

Cambodia

Come November, the rains have moved out of Cambodia, making it an ideal time to visit the mystic Angkor temples and Cambodian coast. After a few days spent exploring the famous Khmer sites, head to the private island retreat of Song Saa. Located in the Koh Rong Archipelago, it is home to incredible reefs, rain forest, and white sand beaches. The pristine waters are excellent for snorkeling, with dugong, green turtles, and seahorses making a home among the seagrass meadows.

Botswana

With our attractive November rates, late fall is one of the best times to visit Botswana. It’s the start of green season. The rains turn the brown landscape to a vibrant green. Set against a crisp, blue sky, the colors of the landscape are rich. In the Okavango Delta, the winter floods recede and expose the floodplains, which draws the grazers there to give birth. There’s a large concentration of wildlife, with many newborn animals and tons of predator activity. It’s also high season for birding with kingfishers, bee-eaters, and kites filling the air. For photographers, it’s one of the best seasons to visit Botswana.
