Botswana’s Okavango Delta is quite possibly one of the final remaining pieces of untouched wilderness in the world. A blend of pans, marshlands, reed banks, forests of giant acacia trees and mopane woodlands, the Okavango is arguably the finest wildlife sanctuary in Africa. It is protected and preserved for the benefit of wildlife and experiential travel and achieves a delightful balance of both. Fed with trillions of gallons of water annually by the Okavango River, the Delta is a playground for Africa’s most recognized animal denizens – The Big Five, wild dog, cheetah, plains zebra, spotted hyena, warthog, dozens of species of antelope and over 400 species of birds.

We are pleased to send our guests to Ker & Downey Botswana camps for unforgettable wildlife encounters in intimate surroundings. Each of the luxury camps is furnished with modern amenities including fully-functional en-suite bathrooms and flush toilets. Professional guides are on hand for excursions into the peaceful wilderness in 4×4 vehicles, in silent mokoro canoes, or by foot for true close encounters. Experience the Delta in unmatched splendor – this is Botswana adventure travel with Ker & Downey.

Comfort and exclusivity best describe the accommodations at Shinde and the service of the staff is impeccable, courteous and inviting. Shinde accommodates only 16 guests in total, further enhancing the feeling of exclusivity. Kanana Camp
Kanana Camp

Located in the remote inner reaches of the Delta, eight luxury-style tents accommodate up to 16 guests. The common facilities of the camp are built on stilts to insure a good view of the floodplains for all visitors. Kanana Camp is built among spectacular shade trees of ebony, knob thorn acacia and the sausage tree, with an ancient fig tree as the centerpiece of the dining and sitting areas. The tents are well spaced for privacy, but are still within comfortable distance from the central dining and lounge area.
